Scott previously worked for the defense technology firm QinetiQ, which in 2007 created OptaSense, the world’s largest supplier of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) systems. Scott and his team began working with the founding team of OptaSense in 2009 to identify and develop applications of this new fiber optic sensing technology. Luna acquired OptaSense in 2020 and now combines multiple fiber optic sensing brands and technologies under one roof, providing monitoring solutions into large infrastructure projects globally. Scott is based in the Washington, DC, area and has BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
