James Tanneberger is President and CEO of South Central Indiana REMC (SCI) based in Martinsville, Indiana. He is leading an $80+ million fiber-to-the-home project in SCI’s territory that is near completion. Tanneberger also co-founded and chairs Accord Telecommunications Collaborative, a regional, middle-mile fiber transport network that includes 17 electric cooperatives, four telephone cooperatives, and three independent broadband providers. Tanneberger has a heart for collaboration, and he envisions bringing non-traditional partners together nationally, of one accord, to better serve rural America. Prior to joining SCI, he operated an ISP in Texas and has also served in leadership and technical positions for electric utilities in Texas, New Mexico, and Oregon. Tanneberger received an MBA from the University of Houston, a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and he is a licensed professional engineer.
