Joe Hickey is the President of PomeGran Inc., one of North America’s premier fibre-centric broadband infrastructure providers. He is also the founder and president of ROCK Networks, which was acquired by PomeGran in 2023. PomeGran owns extensive broadband networks, underground and aerial fibre assets, and fixed wireless access (FWA) assets. Through his work with the PomeGran Group, Joe is committed to bridging the digital divide between urban, rural, and Indigenous communities, ensuring equitable access to high-speed internet for all.
Joe’s career has spanned 30 years, with roles in Canada, the US, India, and business in over 40 countries worldwide. His innovative leadership has consistently driven growth and success in the telecommunications industry. Joe holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an Executive MBA from the University of Toronto. When he’s not leading industry innovations, Joe dedicates his time to giving back through volunteer work, serving on boards such as the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Center (2004-2008) CENGN (2014-2021), techNL (2021-present), and staying active in his local community church. On a personal note, Joe shares his life with his wife, Jeanette, their five children, three grandchildren and their two beloved dogs.
