Sarah Magruder Lyle is President and CEO of the Common Ground Alliance, a national non-profit organization dedicated to protecting underground utility infrastructure and those who live and work near it. Under her leadership, CGA is developing the next generation of damage prevention practices and incentivizing technologies to protect our Nation's critical underground infrastructure. CGA’s news program, the Damage Prevention Institute is focused on consolidating the rich data and resources of CGA to generate powerful insights and efficiencies that will reduce the rate of damages to buried infrastructure. Sarah is also the Executive Director of the Damage Prevention Action Center, which advocates for public policies and industry practices that protect our Nation’s critical underground utility infrastructure and those who work and live near these important assets, and educating policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels on these issues. In 2019, she was also appointed by the Secretary of Transportation to the Liquid Pipeline Advisory Committee (LPAC) to provide guidance to PHMSA on pipeline safety standards.
